As the Alumni Association continues to move forward and evolve, a new infusion of leadership is desired. Are you interested in serving on the VHSAA Board? We currently are recruiting for the roles of president, vice-president, treasurer, and secretary. A mentoring season is desired before leadership transitions take place. Job Descriptions
President, Vintage High School Alumni Association Board
The President leads the alumni board, overseeing operations, setting strategic goals, fostering alumni engagement, driving fundraising, and representing the alumni community while aligning efforts with the school’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Chair board meetings, set agendas, and guide decision-making.
Develop and implement the board’s strategic plan with school alignment.
Appoint and oversee committee chairs and activities.
Build alumni networks, plan events (e.g., reunions, mixers), and promote participation.
Lead fundraising for scholarships and programs, cultivate donors, and manage funds.
Liaise with school administration, represent alumni at events, and advocate for school needs.
Recruit diverse board members and foster an inclusive, trained board culture.
Qualifications:
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Experience in event planning, fundraising, and non-profit governance.
Passion for the school and ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
Vice President, Vintage High School Alumni Board
The Vice President assists the President in leading the alumni association by supporting board operations, overseeing committees (e.g., fundraising, events, engagement), driving alumni participation, aiding fundraising efforts, and representing the board at events.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the President in managing meetings and operations; chair meetings in their absence.
Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making.
Lead or co-lead committees, ensuring alignment with board goals.
Boost alumni engagement through outreach and relationship-building.
Assist in fundraising campaigns, donor cultivation, and securing funds.
Represent the board at school and community events.
Qualifications:
Strong commitment to the school and alumni.
Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Fundraising and event planning experience preferred.
Ability to collaborate with diverse groups.
Familiarity with non-profit governance.
Treasurer, Vintage High School Alumni Association Board
The Treasurer oversees the financial health of the alumni association, managing budgets, tracking funds, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting fundraising efforts while maintaining compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and manage the annual budget in collaboration with the board.
Track income and expenses, maintaining accurate financial records.
Provide regular financial reports to the board and present updates at meetings.
Oversee fundraising proceeds, donations, and allocation of funds for alumni programs.
Ensure compliance with non-profit financial regulations and coordinate tax filings.
Manage bank accounts, transactions, and reconciliations.
Support the President and board in financial planning and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
Strong financial management and organizational skills.
Attention to detail and proficiency in bookkeeping or accounting software.
Understanding of non-profit financial regulations and compliance.
Excellent communication skills for reporting and collaboration.

Secretary, Vintage High School Alumni Association Board
The Secretary manages meeting logistics, records minutes, maintains organized board records, ensures compliance with regulations, tracks member terms, and supports board communication and administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and distribute meeting agendas and minutes.
Attend all meetings and maintain accurate, accessible records.
Monitor compliance with bylaws and coordinate legal filings.
Track board member terms and assist with onboarding.
Facilitate board communication and coordinate meeting logistics.
Qualifications:
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and proficiency in record-keeping.
Knowledge of governance, compliance, and document management.
